Batik Strip Exchange - August, 2008
At the August meeting, the guild voted to have an exchange of batik strips.
Here are the rules that we all agreed to:
- Each participant should purchase bright batik fabrics in one yard
lengths.
- Each participant should bring 3 to 5 different batiks to the September
meeting.
- The fabrics should NOT be washed.
- A committee will cut the yardage into strips and sort them before
the October meeting.
- The strips will be given out at the October meeting.
Some members plan to work independently and make quilts of their own choice
and/or design. Others plan to work together to increase their variety.
We may schedule a workshop after the October meeting.
If you missed the August meeting and would like more information or have
questions, call/email
Hilary
or
Taffy.
You can still participate. And if you decide
you want more or less fabric then your sign up for, make any changes you want.
Just bring your batiks in one yard lengths to the September meeting.
For those of you buying your batiks at Intown, look for our theme fabric.
Buy something that looks good with the theme fabric. Bright, clear color!
Also, please ask for your 25% discount on batiks for this exchange. Sarah is
always ready to support a guild project, but the ladies may not know what you
are shopping for. SO ask! Also, ask whoever cuts your fabric to mark the
bolt "Phoenix strip" so we don't get a lot of duplicates.
We have already signed up for about 75 yards so this will be fun!
